Just for fun and for personal selfish reasons, I've compiled my favorite Woody Allen quotes along with some glorious photos of him. Image 1 is arguably one of my favorite scenes from Woody Allen's vast filmography. This lobster scene in Annie Hall was so heartfelt and real. It makes me laugh and cry at the same time. Woody Allen and Diane Keaton's on screen relationship is one of the most beautiful relationships in film history. I just hope to meet someone one day and share such a wonderful moment.

I want to thank all the lovely people who think of me when coming across something related to Woody Allen. It makes me so happy that people make that association with me and my unhealthy and ridiculous obsession with Woody Allen. Thanks to i wish i had taste for sending me a link to a Woody Allen illustration by Judy Kaufmann on Etsy. I think this illustration is just too adorable; I want an illustration of me as Annie Hall and Woody Allen. It's a shame I don't draw anymore. I used to draw when I was a kid, but then I gave up when I became self conscious. Since then I had killed my inner illustrator. But if anyone is willing to draw me and Woody Allen, I would gladly repay you with candy or sushi or whatever you want! Miss Anne Pomel, would you be willing to draw a caricature of me and Woody Allen, pretty please?

I remembered one of my all time favorite Woody Allen quotes from Love and Death:
Countess Alexandrovna: You're disgusting, but I love you. Boris: Well, my disgustingness is my best feature. I love that Woody Allen is so forward and direct about sex. I know I've mentioned this in my first love letter to Woody. But I must reiterate my feelings toward him. I seriously love his outlandish ways, he is such an oddball and his sense of humor just speaks to me. I think the more disgusting he is, the more I'm attracted to him. Okay, I probably sound more insane now, considering he is 53 years my senior. But in all seriousness, he is my hero and I have the utmost respect for him and his work.

What are the chances that I'll work on one of his films as a PA or any crew member? I wonder. I think that will be the day I will pass out, wake up and then cry my eyes out and then pass out due to dehydration and then wake up and then cry some more and then take deep breaths and then stay conscious. I'm getting ahead of myself, but a girl can dream, right? I guess I'll just have to stay positive and optimistic. Although, I've already accepted the fact that I may never become a "well known" director, but I just hope I'll be able to work on the films of my favorite directors: Woody Allen (please, please, please let me get what I want), Darren Aronofsky, Sam Mendes, Julie Delpy, etc. It's good to have ambitions and goals, but it's also wise to be realistic and practical. I will work hard and hopefully hard work will pay off, but right now, I'll focus on broadening my experience in the filmmaking industry. Many more love letters to come! Stay tuned!

Dear Mr. Allen,

I am so in awe of you. Every day I learn something new and inspiring about you. I cannot wait to live in Manhattan. I cannot wait to live and breathe the Manhattan air and of course, I will visit Brooklyn and soak up your childhood home. I hope I'll be fortunate enough to see you on the streets of Manhattan and if I ever do, I don't know if I would have the guts to go up to you and bother you. I will probably faint before I think of even approaching you. Maybe I won't be lucky enough to see you on the streets, who knows? But my dream is to work for you. I would be so honored to be a script supervisor or production or personal assistant. If I ever had that chance, I would be eternally thankful to whatever higher power there is in this vast universe. I have many dreams, goals and ambitions, but I think my life would be complete if I ever had the chance to work for you and see you direct in action. Sadly, you will probably never read this and admittedly, I would be embarrassed if you ever did, but nonetheless, you are my hero and idol. Thank you for continually inspiring me to be a happy, grateful and motivated human being and filmmaker.

Yours truly,
Avalonne

Sex without love is an empty experience, but, as empty experiences go, it's one of the best.

I'm such a good lover because I practice a lot on my own.

I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens.

To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love. But then, one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then, is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy, one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.

Sex between 2 people is a beautiful thing; between 5 it's fantastic.”My brain? That´s my second favorite organ.

I don't want to achieve immortality through my work. I want to achieve it through not dying.”Man consists of two parts, his mind and his body, only the body has more fun.

Life is full of misery, loneliness, and suffering - and it's all over much too soon.

  3. Without you, I'm not sure I ever would have gotten into Woody Allen in such a major way. Before I knew you I had seen two films and wanted to see maybe a few more and you fueled the obsession inside of me! I love all of your words in this post so much.

As a sideline, there is a slight chance i'll be in Hong Kong circa the beginning of 2012 & I was wondering if there was any chance you might be there too!! You have no idea how exciting it would be meeting you, should our schedules collide, if not than I 'demand'tips' closer to the time on must-see/go places!

  4. All those quotes are PRICELESS! That third picture down is my favourite. I don't know why, to be honest, but that might be why: because there's just this raw, tired sort of honesty that he's giving out in the picture.

....or else I'm just making things up in my mind and really don't know what I'm talking about. -_-"

It's inspiring how you have a list of people in your chosen field that inspire you. I'm finding more and more that I seem to be one of the few people who don't, which is really something that I need to remedy ASAP, if only to have a working knowledge at what worked for other people and finding ways to make some of those things my own.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. :)

  5. Whoa, I love them quotes! :O

I have never been really interested in Woody Allen, just because I didn't know much about him. But seriously, after reading this, I've done some serious browsing. Damn, thanks for enlightening me!

    Bloody amazing!

  6. This is so cute of you. Now I really want to go watch a Woddy Allen film, drink red wine, and wear bell bottoms. Because for some reason, those two things remind me of him. Haha.
