Spread your wings!

Even though Good Friday is not something I celebrate, I find myself thinking every Friday should be good. In fact, every day is good. Every day should be an opportunity to be good and kind. But in reality, every day is a bit of a disaster. There are tragedies happening around the world and we all live in a bubble and ignore the real problems in the world. It breaks my heart to know I'm alive and well, when people around the world are suffering. They live in constant fear and what are our petty daily problems? Nothing in comparison. Therefore, years ago, I made a conscious decision to not complain.

I hope people would adopt that attitude and realize that there are people who have no shelter, no clean water, no medical care, get paid $0.30 a day for hard labor, etc. If people opened their eyes a little, they would realize they are lucky. I feel so much gratitude for my life and I hope I can spread a little optimism to the people around me. I feel this responsibility to be positive, because if I'm not positive, who would spread positive energy? There's already too much negativity out there and people perpetuate their problems and lose perspective of the world around them.

Let's take this opportunity to be grateful. You can thank God, Jesus or any deity or just the universe for giving us this chance to be alive. We're alive at this time. It's 2016. By some chance, you and I are here at this moment. We could have been born 100 years ago or 100 years in the future, but no, we are here now. Now is such a beautiful concept, it's always fleeting and you'll find yourself constantly chasing the now. Don't dwell on the past or focus too much on the unpredictable future - if you could pay a little more attention to the now, you could shape your life. Have a little faith and believe in yourself and the universe.

Let's cherish this now and make it count. Spread your wings, it's Good Friday.
